These unique, nurturing practices have been shown to help with anxiety, headaches, digestion, lymphatic drainage, muscle and joint pain, range of motion and joint health, proprioception, breathing, and more. 


Thai

Thai massage is an ancient folk medicine practice, and it honors the whole person. It is generally done on a cozy mat on the floor, and the recipient remains clothed in comfortable attire that allows for movement and mobilization of tissues and enhances fascial and joint health. The practitioner uses their feet, legs, elbows, and arms to massage the recipient, not just hands, generally, without oil.  


Practitioners can assist the body’s own support mechanisms even further by working the Sen lines, which are energetic lines in the body, akin to acupuncture meridians. Thai massage offers support by increasing flexibility and range of motion and the recipient does not need to be flexible in order to get full benefit. 

Mashing

Mashing is also practiced on a floor mat, with feet and hands and primarily addresses fascial restrictions. In addition to mashing, fascial stretching and breathwork can enhance mobility, strength and health of the tissues and meridians. This practice can be offered as a mini session or “warm up” to a craniosacral or myofascial session. 

Swedish

Swedish massage is traditionally done on a massage table with oil application for relaxation and tension relief. This technique, performed unclothed or partially so, may loosen tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at a computer or exercising.

Infant

Infant massage is gently performed with safe oil and equally beneficial without. Techniques are taught to caregivers and can be applied safely at home and often extremely beneficial for digestive issues, enhanced circulation and relaxation.

Visceral

Visceral manipulation, a gentle, therapeutic unwinding of the abdominal organs, also a Thai-based modality (Chi Nei Tsang), frees up the vital energy, called prana, or chi. The stomach meridian makes this vital energy available to the rest of the body, governs the muscles of the body and helps integrate the whole. Working with the stomach can enhance one’s ability to accept nourishment on all.
