Since everybody is different and some patients prefer a higher force adjustment and others prefer a very low force/slower adjustment, a variety of techniques are used to make your adjustment as specific to your needs as possible. These techniques include Diversified, Thompson Drop Table, Applied Kinesiology, Activator Technique, Logan Basic, SOT/Chiropractic-cranial Technique, and Webster Pregnancy Technique. In many cases, a combination of these techniques will be utilized so that you may get the most from your treatment.
Chiropractors don’t only adjust the spine – we also adjust cranial bones and extremities such as your shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, ankles and feet! Believe it or not, even the inner ear can be adjusted when patients are having earaches, vertigo, or tinnitus.
Chiropractic Care for Pregnancy (Webster Technique )
When receiving Webster Technique by a certified practitioner, the pregnant patient will be placed face down on the chiropractic table on a specific kind of pillow which supports and protects the belly. The Webster Technique is a very gentle technique that involves specific and gentle pelvic alignments, ligament unwinding methods, and soft tissue work, to insure proper alignment of the pelvic structure. This allows for correct fetal position, a more comfortable pregnancy and successful labor, and also relieves low back discomfort, sciatica, pubic pain, and other muscle tensions. Most moms are excited to be able to lay on their stomachs for a change!
“The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is restored and facilitated.”
