Adjusting Techniques
Since everybody is different and some patients prefer a higher force adjustment and others prefer a very low force/slower adjustment, a variety of techniques are used to make your adjustment as specific to your needs as possible. These techniques include Diversified, Thompson Drop Table, Applied Kinesiology, Activator Technique, Logan Basic, SOT/Chiropractic-cranial Technique, and Webster Pregnancy Technique.  In many cases, a combination of these techniques will be utilized so that you may get the most from your treatment.

Chiropractors don’t only adjust the spine – we also adjust cranial bones and extremities such as your shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, ankles and feet! Believe it or not, even the inner ear can be adjusted when patients are having earaches, vertigo, or tinnitus.

Chiropractic Care for Pregnancy (Webster Technique )
When receiving Webster Technique by a certified practitioner, the pregnant patient will be placed face down on the chiropractic table on a specific kind of pillow which supports and protects the belly.  The Webster Technique is a very gentle technique that involves specific and gentle pelvic alignments, ligament unwinding methods, and soft tissue work, to insure proper alignment of the pelvic structure. This allows for correct fetal position, a more comfortable pregnancy and successful labor, and also relieves low back discomfort, sciatica, pubic pain, and other muscle tensions.  Most moms are excited to be able to lay on their stomachs for a change!

“The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is restored and facilitated.”

Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Generally, because most infants and children don’t carry as much muscle tension as adults do, the pediatric adjustment utilizes gentle, low force techniques. These adjustments are specific and directional motions to the bones and ligaments which remove restrictions and restore proper alignment of the spine and cranial bones, allowing for optimal neurological and immune function.  Infants are either rested on their backs in a soft cradling cushion on the table, held in the seated caretaker’s arms, or laying on their belly on top of their caretaker’s belly as they lay on the table.  The older child is free to lay on the chiropractic table or sit up right (whatever is comfortable for them!)…however, toddlers have a tendency to wiggle and squirm all over the place, so usually the adjustment takes place in a variety of positions and locations while playing with toys!

Nutrition: MAT and NRT
What is Meridian Autonomic Testing (MAT) and Nutritional Response Testing (NRT)?
To evaluate your nutritional state of health, a technique called Meridian Autonomic Testing (MAT) and Nutritional Response Testing (NRT) is used.  MAT is technique encompassing Chiropractic, Applied Kinesiology, Acupuncture/Meridian Therapy, and Proper Nutrition.  More specifically, MAT and NRT is a very methodical muscle reflex testing technique that connects the autonomic nervous system and specific organs, hormones, and nutrients of the body via ancient Traditional Chinese Acupuncture Meridians, and tests its function and state of health.  If an energy deficiency is found, whether it is due to biochemical, nutritional, or emotional causes, it is treated with either a whole food based supplement or herbal compound.  In other words, MAT  and NRT is a way to subconsciously “talk” to the body and help discover what nutrients the body needs.  Please visit the “Nutrition” link at the top of the page to learn more about this and other forms of nutrition evaluations.

Soft Tissue Work & Muscle Rehab
Soft Tissue Work and Muscle Rehab – Included in almost every appointment, your adjustment will be accompanied with some form of soft tissue work and/or muscular rehab to support and stabilize the adjustment. Chiropractors are Board Certified in Physio Therapy and use many modalities and strengthening exercises to support and help hold your adjustments.

Neuro-Emotional Technique
NET is a technique for detecting and resolving emotions, which our bodies hold in our cells, joints and organs.

If you’re in a weakened state due to factors such as stress or physical trauma, everyday emotional responses may not fully move through your body like they naturally should. These emotional chemicals will get stuck in our cells, which we call cellular memory. This is similar to muscle memory like learning to ride a bike or shoot a basketball. Later in our lives, when we experience a similar situation, an old emotional response can kick in and create problems with our body.

Many chronic aches and pains as wells as symptom such as brain fog, anxiety, and fatigue can be due to emotions.

Individually, we rarely see the link between a past event and our present situation. This is where NET is crucial — NET can help identify an old unresolved event (real or imagined) and help your body release its lingering emotional response. For good!

People used to think that emotions resided entirely in their brain. Now we know that other parts of the body can hold emotional charges too. Have you ever felt butterflies in your stomach before a speech?  Have you referred to something as a “pain in the neck?”  Have you ever felt a “lump in your throat?” Clearly emotions happen in our body, not just our brain.

NET practitioners can find unresolved, negatively-charged emotional responses that are stored in your body and help you release them. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it can dramatically improve your health.

Finding “trapped” or conditioned memory loops is done with the help of simple muscle reflex testing. This helps determine if your body is in harmony with a particular concept or idea, which is linked to an unresolved emotional event.

To make the correction, you’ll form a mental picture – a “snapshot” – of the original triggering event. Your body will physiologically assume an emotional state similar to the way it originally reacted. Then we will contact (or ask you to contact) a specific body point that is associated with the unresolved emotional response. This helps your body release the emotion linked to the event. It’s that simple!

After the correction, many patients report feeling that a heavy weight has been lifted from their shoulders.  NET is safe and effective and is a natural way to instantly resolve long-standing health problems by resolving the emotional components that accompany the physical symptoms.
