Birth Education

Inner Source is excited to be able to offer two separate and amazingly helpful birth classes!  Please read more below about the Bradley Method taught by Mandi Ledwidth/ In Due Time, and Spinning Babies taught by Erin Ronder Neves.

In Due Time Childbirth Classes

In Due Time Childbirth is founded on the principle that with the proper education, couples are better prepared for labor and birth and are equipped to make informed and wise choices. I teach natural labor techniques in which a woman and her coach play an active part, as well as the use of pain medications and interventions should they be wanted or needed. You will learn ways of increasing self-awareness; how to “tune in” to you body to deal with the stress of labor. Instead of seeking to control the sensations of labor with distraction methods, you are encouraged to trust your body using natural breathing combined with movement and relaxation.

The class series involves eight weeks of instruction and discussion, practice and activities regarding relevant issues of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. These include prenatal exercises that condition and tone the body in preparation for birth; nutrition and its effect on the growing fetus; stages of labor and how to work with each stage to produce the most efficient labor; medical interventions and how to avoid them when they are not needed and to be able to make informed decisions; options for pain; cesarean sections and how to avoid an unnecessary one along with options should one become necessary; breastfeeding and how to achieve a successful nursing relationship; the postpartum period and how to be supportive both physically and mentally; and finally, newborns and what they need.
In addition, because labor coaching is paramount to the birth process, time is spent in each class learning and practicing coaching techniques. A thoroughly prepared coach knows what to expect in labor and is therefore better able to facilitate the laboring woman’s ability to birth normally. Your coach will be educated on how your body works in pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding and the postpartum period. This enables him or her to be able to provide great support. The presence of an effective labor coach not only reduces the need for medical interference, but it also increases the couple’s satisfaction with their birth experience. We will also discuss doulas and bodywork (massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture…) for you and your baby.

In Due Time Childbirth Classes are thorough and personal. They are limited in size so as to provide time for each couple’s concerns and input. I encourage full participation as this type of preparation produces not only the safest births and healthiest babies, but also the most exciting and satisfying birth experiences!

Spinning Babies® Parent Class with a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator, Erin Ronder Neves

Class Description

Spinning Babies® Parent Class highlights your baby’s active role to rotate (spin!) down and out of the pelvis during birth.

During labor your baby passes through the three levels of the pelvis. Come learn and practice techniques to help open your pelvis, and balance muscles that support the pelvis and your baby. Together, you and your birth partner will be able to use this knowledge and positional work throughout pregnancy and during labor to help “make room for baby!” Spinning Babies® reveals how to make pregnancy more comfortable, and how your baby can find optimal positions for pregnancy and labor, making birth simpler.

This class is for expectant parents only that are 28+ weeks pregnant.

Cost of Class: $175 total for both partners for the 3 hour course.  This class occurs monthly – please inquire the date and time of class by contacting Inner Source.

Erin Ronder Neves

Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator (SpBCPE)

Certified Birth Doula CD(DONA)

Certified Childbirth Educator (BCCE)

Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)

Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT-200)

As a doula and perinatal educator, I am committed to helping new families find their true north on this life-changing journey. I strive to validate and fulfill a family’s birth preferences through evidence based education, access to quality perinatal care, and personal empowerment. I let my intuition, expansive knowledge, and instinct guide my hands-on teaching and doula support style to help create a nurturing environment that fosters confidence, self-advocacy, and love. My training as a dancer, actor, singer, and certified yoga teacher provides me with a deep understanding of the capabilities of the human body. I encourage all birthing persons to be active participants in their pregnancy and birth by being their cheerleader, as well as teaching them how to incorporate movement and Spinning Babies®  into their daily prenatal and laboring routines. As a North Shore resident, I love supporting expecting families in my home community, and connecting them with the local resources they need to feel supported as their family transitions and grows.

When I am not helping families throughout the birth process, I enjoy acting, dancing, singing, teaching theater to students of all ages, working with the neurodiverse community, reading, going to any library or bookstore, exercising, martial arts, driving fun cars, comic books (DC preferred), spending time with my two amazing daughters, laughing with my husband, and snuggling with my two Labrador Retrievers, Bruce Wayne and Barbara “Babs” Gordon. (Yes, they are named after Batman and Batgirl.)
